Green screen: Hotel babylon
Editing
The scene opens on a character in a store room; the clip is quickly cut to two police officers standing before him. The camera changes back and forth between them as they talk, the police officers in one shot and the other character on his own in another. This implies that the police have more authority over the man. This is an example of a shot reverse shot
The next scene opens on the hotel lobby as immigration officers enter. The scene is cut between the secretary at the desk, and the ‘villain’ characters walking in. when the two are confronted slow shots during the conversation emphasises the seriousness of the conversation. This scene is an establishing shot as every eye in the room is turned to these men and sets the scene of the whole clip.
After this scene panic strikes through the building and people run around to find the immigrants and hide them away from the immigration officers. As they are all running around, the scene is cut very quickly between shots to raise the tension.
When the characters are hidden away in a safe room, longer shots are used to increase the tension further and make it feel like the audience is actually there.
As the clip progresses the characters learn that one of their friends has been caught by the officers, the scene is cut quickly between them to emphasise shock. After which when the sad song starts, the shots are slow and long, trying to build up the sadness of the scene.

Waterloo road media interpretation
This video was the origional clip from the TV series waterloo road.
This clip has many key themes including age, gender, and fear which revolves around gun crime. The setting for this clip is in a normal school and the shock of what has happened schocks the whole cast. The audience is invited to sympathise with the character that has been shot struggling to exit the school to escape. The screaming and flurry of people spreads panic which the audience can relate to. The fact that this scenario has happened in school shows that no one is directly safe in todays society and the younger generation is getting more and more involved in crime.
Here is our interpretation of the clip
